Thank you for using SmartWork, a platform designed to enhance safety and compliance functions for construction sites through centralized management and efficient allocation of site access and tasks to users as assigned by their employer or organization. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting it in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act), which includes the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) and any related privacy codes.

This Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and store your personal information and explains how you can access that information. This Policy applies to our obligations when handling information in Australia.

  • (b) Any photos that you upload;

  • (c) Your device ID, device type and information, geo-location information, Internet Protocol (IP) address, and standard web log information;

  • (d) Site locations you attend and the times you are there;

  • (e) Details of licences relating to construction, such as Permits to Work;

  • (f) Employment details and qualifications;

  • (g) Certificate of Currency details;

  • (h) Information contained in any communications between you and us.

For clarity, we do not track your specific location within the site after your initial sign-on.

If you are a customer, we may collect the following information:

  • (a) Your name, address, and contact details;

  • (b) Business registration details, such as your Australian Business Number;

  • (c) Billing and payment information.

 

4. Why do we collect your personal information?
We collect your personal information primarily to provide you with our services and enable your use of our platform.
Some ways we use your personal information include:

  • (a) For the purpose for which the personal information was originally collected, including recording site attendance and communicating with you in case of an emergency on site;

  • (b) To identify and interact with you;

  • (c) To perform administrative and operational functions;

  • (d) To comply with any legal requirements, including any purpose authorized or required by an Australian law, court, or tribunal; and

  • (e) For any other purpose for which you give your consent.

In relation to personal information of customers or prospective staff members seeking employment at SmartWork, we collect personal information for purposes including:

  • (a) Enabling us to carry out our recruitment functions;

  • (b) Corresponding with you;

  • (c) Fulfilling the terms of any contractual relationship;

  • (d) Ensuring that you can perform your duties.

  • (b) Our business or commercial partners, including the owners of any app or platform you have subscribed to through or in connection with us;

  • (c) Our professional advisers, dealers, and agents;

  • (d) Third parties and contractors who provide services to us, including customer inquiries and support services, IT service providers, data storage, web-hosting, and server providers, marketing and advertising organizations (see section 7), payment processing service providers;

  • (e) Third parties to collect and process data, such as Intercom, Amazon Web Services, and Google Analytics;

  • (f) Any third parties authorized by you to receive information held by us.

If you are a customer, we may also disclose your information to payment system operators and debt-recovery functions.

We may also disclose your personal information if required, authorized, or permitted by law.
